Billy Buzz Josh Ryan Matt Martin

Billy Rodriguez was a former member of the Latin punk sensation El Love Apple, but after a fierce fight with front man Jesus Cortez, Billy left the group to pursue a career as an engineer. Graduating with extreme average honors from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Chemical Engineering Wooten traveled the globe as a merchant marine, to “discover” himself. He found his way into a Turkish prison and it was there that we wrote the songs for the first Blackbeard’s Truck CD: Fat Steve and The Toad Frog Daddy. Everyone has there own ideas about the title, but only Wooten knows it was truly a dedication to a freedom fighter named Steve, whom he shared a cot with for 17 years in that Istanbul prison farm. After making his way across the plain of Africa in 1997 he met up with singer Ryan Headley at an Indigo Girls concert in Paris. The two immediately hit it off and decided to start a band… The rest is history. Currently, Rodriguez lives and works in Greenville, SC employed as a real life engineer, but on weekends he works as a mercenary, extracting hostages from drug cartels in South America.
